Adjuster
An Insurance Adjuster’s primary responsibility is to evaluate and report the damage caused to people or property when an accident occurs. An insurance adjuster must be involved when one or more parties hold an insurance policy against possible accidents. It is their responsibility to investigate, discern costs and bills, gather evidence, generate reports and interview and record information from witnesses, police and claimants. From these reports, the insurance company decides how much to pay on insurance claims.
Becoming an insurance adjuster isn’t all about paperwork. An insurance adjuster must be good at investigating the facts. They have to assimilate the evidence into compartments of data which create a summary of the events. They have to be good with people and not afraid to ask difficult, probing, straightforward questions.
